Title: Lawdy Miss Clawdy

A Mikey Mike Master with series number: MMM035

Note Aug 2019:
This show has for years been available in lesser quality on several torrent sites and has even been released on bootlegs several times in poor sound. This 2019 version is a direct and fresh transfer from Mikes original master tape. A true testament to why we need to search out the mastertapes before it's too late. No copycats claiming ownership. No bootleggers with commercial interests. Just an almost 40 year old Mikey Mike Master tape for your enjoyment. The MMM series is curated by ECfan according to the wishes of Mikey Mike.

Mike's notes about the gig:
This was a hastily arranged show and was the first (and last) time Eric played the Rainbow Theatre in London's Finsbury Park since the infamous 'comeback shows' of 1973. Excited to be seeing him, I arrived early and at doors open I rushed to the front and placed myself in front of the left stack of speakers (where else?). It was not only a Benefit for Meg Patterson's Clinic (where EC had undergone electrical acupuncture to help his then Heroin addiction) but a warm-up one-off rehearsal for his massive upcoming U.S. tour. He did not disappoint. Support act Chas and Dave joined him for the encores and they had a rip-roaring time. There were quite a few stand-out moments including Blow Wind Blow Wind, Double Trouble, Rambling & Cocaine but my memory seems to wander back to Eric's great solo on Whiter Shade of Pale. A thoroughly enjoyable show when Eric had his British Band-normally I favour his American musicians.
