Fresh off their recent Beacon Theater run in NYC, the Allman Brothers Band hit the stage at Wanee running and gunning - as they always do! The Friday night show was chock full of hits including the new Van Morrison cover "And It Stoned Me" making its first-ever appearance on a live concert recording from the Allmans. Due to a sudden illness, Jaimoe was unable to perform with the ABB on Friday night, but he was capably replaced by guest drummer Yonrico Scott of the Derek Trucks Band. Other guests artists for this night were Benmont Tench (of the Tom Petty Band) on piano and Ron Holloway on saxophone. Pay close attention to some new ending jams on old familiar tunes that will make you sit up and listen closely to the creativeness this band still possesses. It was a fine way to begin a wonderful weekend at Wanee!
