Geetarz Comments:
First show of the US leg of the 1988 Tour. Eric and the band are hot and rearing to go right out of the box, an exceptional performance.
Received this from a friend in Canada, who did some light mastering, remastering work. Here are the notes I received:
----------
"... This was the first show of the "25th Anniversay" tour and it seems like it was taking the sound-crew a bit of time to get things running. Eventually the tape does become listenable despite the crowd noise. It certainly does sound better on speakers than on headphones.
It was truly a burning show ... Of course, I'm biased because I saw the show so I can deal with the recording problems. Clapton was really aggressive and in a good mood. He seemed to feed off the energy of the crowdmore than any other shows of his I've seen. Of course, rumours are Clapton was off the wagon during 1988, so booze might be one of the reasons the show was so wild.
I did my best [with the DAT tape] ... it was encoded at 48kHz so I did an analog transfer to disc because I dislike the sound of software-based sample conversion. "A Remark You Made" had terrible cassette tape wow and flutter, but I fixed that as best I could. There is no digital dynamic range compression or EQ on this transfer."

Enjoy!
