First and foremost this recording was made at a benefit fundraiser to support the Robin Hood Relief Fund providing relief to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. As a former New Yorker, I know many of the areas affected and have many friends and family who felt the impact of the storm. As the taper of this concert I have a simple request to make. I ask those who download this concert make a nominal donation to the Robin Hood Relief Fund. Here is the link to their website http://www.121212concert.org/. My goal is to have at least an equal amount donated to the hurrican relief than I spent of tickets. The ticket I purchased cost $2,500 and I spent an additional $350 upgrading seats to get the best possible location for this incredible performance. Donations, the purchase of Merchandise or time helping others in need are all things one can do.
Surprises included Eddie Vedder joining Roger Waters for the Pink Floyd classic ‘Comfortably Numb’, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi doing ‘Born To Run’ and Michael Stipe joining Chris Martin but the big surprise was Paul McCartney joining the surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic.

When this show was announced I knew I needed to be there to both support the cause and see musical history. When tickets went on sale I easily scored a floor seat in section D on the floor which is left of center halfway back. The seat cost $2,500. A little bit later the seat in section E row 2 came up. It was dead center and I knew I needed that seat to make the best recording. Suddenly I had two $2,500 seats but I figured it would be an easy ticket to sell for face value. Unfortunately that was not the case. It was a struggle and was getting offers of $100 to $300 from people. It was on Stubhub and didn't sell too. Finally I got an offer of $2,000 on Ebay. I countered with $2,250 and the buyer took it. After fees I had a $350 loss. Funny thing was within 15 minutes of selling I had two people willing to pay face value. Left work in NJ and took the trian to Penn Station. Stopped at my favorite pizza place http://nypizzasuprema.com/ for a few slices of upside down Sicilian. If you go to MSG this is a must stop (tell the owner the guy who records concerts recommended it) and on to the line to check out the scene. Saw lots of folks lined up waiting for tickets. Doors opened and I was in. Set up gear and got to my seat. Great people around (no drunks) including an older woman who looked and acted like my mom who passed away a few years ago. She told me she had only been to one concert in her life The Doobie Brothers but was making a donation to Robin Hood of $2,500 and they asked her if she wanted a ticket. She actually made it to Kanye West then called it a night. During Bruce Springsteen there was two guys talking away to the point of it being annoying so I briefly turned around to tell them to nicely STFU but after that the occasional scream or clap is all the crowd you hear. I was amazed by the performances and felt it was worth every penny I paid. I only wish the time devoted to Kanye West was divied up between Roger Waters, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones and Sir Paul McCartney. I hope everyone this recording and is able to help in any way.
