Relive the Unforgettable Night – The Birth of a Festival

This historic show took place on June 20, 1986, at Wembley Arena, marking the birth of a festival. It was recorded using a stereo soundboard, capturing every moment. “THE PRINCE’S TRUST CONCERT” is a charitable organization established by Prince Charles (at the time) in 1976. Known for its diverse activities, it started hosting charity concerts in 1982, evolving into a festival-style event from its 10th anniversary in 1986 until 1990. Even amid the charity boom, it became renowned for its star-studded lineup of superstars.
The Complete Soundboard Album – Unveiling the Missing Pieces

This release is the complete soundboard album of the 10th-anniversary edition, which marked the beginning of the festival format. The official release of this show has long been known for its abbreviated version on video. However, this release is a completely different entity. It was sourced from a master recording that was leaked by insiders through our exclusive channels in 2012, ensuring a flawless live album with no omissions, covering the entire performance from start to finish.
Immerse Yourself in Unparalleled Quality Sound

The quality of this recording is outstanding. While it may differ slightly from the official version, it excels in its vibrancy and realism. The raw, unprocessed soundboard mix and the live performances themselves come through with astonishing clarity, as if you were listening through modern IEMs.
Experience the Full Setlist – A Journey Through Time ⏳

What makes this release even more impressive is the fact that it includes every single song performed, including the previously omitted tracks from the official version. You can now enjoy the complete repertoire of the historical stage where music legends collaborated. Let’s take a look at the songs performed, along with the flow of the show.
DISC 1: Opening Acts (13 Songs)

BIG COUNTRY: Wonderland (★) / Fields Of Fire (★) / Look Away (★) / Chance (★) / In A Big Country SUZANNE VEGA: Tom’s Diner (★) / Cracking (★) / Small Blue Thing (★) / Marlene On The Wall LEVEL 42: Lesson In Love (★) / Leaving Me Now (★) / Something About You (★) / Hot Water

※ Note: “★” indicates songs not included in the official video version.

DISC 1 consists of two parts: the “Opening Act” featuring three acts (BIG COUNTRY / SUZANNE VEGA / LEVEL 42). This section, which served as the opening of the concert, is where you will find the most significant additions compared to the official releases. The initial official version (60-minute format) omitted all the performances from these acts. Even in the extended version from the ’90s (90-minute format), only one song from each band (a total of three songs) was included. However, this release covers all 13 songs performed during this section, with a running time of approximately 66 minutes.
DISC 1: Set Change (2 Songs)

ELTON JOHN (Your Song) PHIL COLLINS (In The Air Tonight)

After the completion of the opening acts, there is a set change before the main performance. During this time, Elton John and Phil Collins take the stage, connecting the moments with their solo piano performances. Each of them performs one song, making a total of two songs during this part. DISC 1 concludes here.
DISC 2: All-Star Main Performance (10 Songs)

TINA TURNER (Better Be Good To Me) / ERIC CLAPTON & TINA TURNER (Tearing Us Apart) / MIDGE URE (Call Of The Wild) / MARK KNOPFLER & STING (Money For Nothing) / PAUL YOUNG (Every Time You Go Away) / JOAN ARMATRADING (Reach Out) / HOWARD JONES (No One Is To Blame) / ROD STEWART (Sailing) / ELTON JOHN (I’m Still Standing) / GEORGE MICHAEL & PAUL YOUNG (Every Time You Go Away)

As Elton John and Phil Collins bridge the gap, the stage is set for the main performance, featuring an all-star band. Backed by an almost ever-present house band, each superstar takes the stage to deliver their mesmerizing performance. The house band itself consists of Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, and Midge Ure on guitars, John Illsley and Mark King on bass, Phil Collins on drums, and Elton John and Howard Jones on keyboards. The lineup of vocalists accompanying this illustrious band is equally impressive, as you can see from the list above. It is worth noting that the official extended version (90-minute format) featured all these performances, but the initial release (60-minute format) suffered from severe edits, omitting tracks by Midge Ure, Joan Armatrading, and Howard Jones. The song “Every Time You Go Away” also lacked Clapton’s solo. However, this release presents the complete, uncut versions of all performances.
DISC 2: Highlights (4 Songs)

PAUL McCARTNEY: I Saw Her Standing There / Long Tall Sally
DAVID BOWIE & MICK JAGGER: Dancing In The Street (★)
All-Star Session: Get Back

The final part of this historic show, which serves as a grand finale, holds the greatest appeal. While the official release featured three songs by Paul McCartney (with the last song being an all-star jam session titled “Get Back”), there was a hidden gem in between. David Bowie and Mick Jagger’s electrifying performance of “Dancing In The Street,” which was omitted from the official release due to contractual issues, is included in its entirety in this uncut version. The sheer excitement generated by the audience as Paul calls for Mick and Bowie is extraordinary. Witness the unforgettable collaboration between these two icons, pouring directly into your ears through the pristine soundboard recording. This release holds its value as the ultimate experience of a “historic night,” with one song that encapsulates the essence of the entire event.
Two-Disc Set – A Comprehensive Journey Through Time ⏳

Presented as a pressed two-CD set, this release can be roughly divided into two parts: “DISC 1 – Opening Acts” and “DISC 2 – All-Star Main Performance.” DISC 1 can be further divided into two parts, with the first section being the “Opening Act” featuring three acts. The total duration of this section alone is approximately 66 minutes, offering a substantial volume of music.
Immerse Yourself in Unparalleled Quality Sound

The exceptional sound quality of this release surpasses expectations. While slightly different from the official version, it exhibits vibrant and realistic qualities. The direct connection to the mixing console provides an unaltered, raw feel, allowing the live performances to come to life with astonishing clarity and presence.

This release offers the complete experience of a historic night that shaped the course of music history. From the opening acts to the grand finale, every moment is captured in this uncut soundboard album.
